Angelica DeCianni

Bio

A veteran returning letterwinner for the Gators, Angelica DeCianni has now played in 42 games on her Sage career. She played in eight games during the fall of 2012 and handed out one assist as well as a rookie. As a sophomore, she started 5 of 15 games played and helped to lift Sage’s midfield unit.

As a junior, she played in 19 contests with four starts and was instrumental in anchoring the defense, while also helping the Gators to their record-setting season. She was an impact performer as Sage was a semifinalist in both the Skyline and ECAC Metro Tournaments in 2014 after a 12-6-2 campaign.

She is a graduate of Heatly High School and is coming off a stellar scholastic career. A varsity athlete in soccer, basketball, and softball, she was a co-captain for the soccer team as a senior and garnered a Central Hudson Valley League All-Star Award as well as a CHVL Second Team selection in basketball. A second team all-league pick in soccer, she was also a fourth team all-star all-state pick in soccer. She helped her soccer team to a second round appearance in the playoffs, while her basketball team garnered a spot in the Section II Quarterfinals as well as the semifinals.

A student of the month two months in a row, she was a high honor student and was the recipient of the Kenneth M. Burke Scholarship as well as the John E. McKinney Scholarship.

A health science major with a minor in nutrition at Sage, she is the daughter of William and Gina DeCianni. She plans on pursuing a career as a dietician following graduation from Sage.
