RSC Valorant Completes Undefeated Fall with an ECAC eSports Divisional Championship
ALBANY, N.Y. - The Russell Sage College eSports' Valorant team completed an undefeated season by sweeping Trine 3-0 in Tuesday's ECAC Divisional Championship.
The RSC squad made up of: senior Kylie Behan (Carmel Hamlet, NY/Carmel), freshman Elijah Callender (Jefferson Terrace, NY/Saratoga Springs), freshman Thomas Kline, senior Shaquan Ross (Bronx, NY), senior Aveon Thomas (Manhattan, NY/UAG for Technology) and senior Justin Startup, finished with an overall round differential of +16 across all three maps, and totaled 18 multi-kill rounds.
"I want to celebrate and give all the praise in the world to my players," said Head Coach Luke Martin. "Every game this season I have held them to the expectation that they give their all anytime they compete and if they put in the work the results would be what they deserve. They deserve this season. I'm immensely proud to be able to say that I coached the first UNDEFEATED championship esports roster in Sage history."
Callender led the Gators, winners by map scores of 13-10 (Bind), 13-6 (Sunset) and 13-7 (Haven), with a K-D-A statline of 68-34-17. He registered 16 first bloods, five plants, three difuses, and a 2.0 kill-to-death ratio.
Kline, Ross, and Callender each recorded 20 kills on the second map of the best-of-five series.
In other action this week, the RSC Marvel Rivals team faced Caldwell in its Divisional Consolation match on Wednesday night. The Gators won 4-3.
