Sage Volleyball Sweeps Skyline Quad Match
Farmingdale, NY - The Sage Colleges volleyball team picked up two conference wins Saturday against conference opponents Farmingdale and Old Westbury. The Gators defeated the Rams of Farmingdale in the first match; 25-14, 25-16, 25-11. Sage also defeated Old Westbury in three games, winning 25-8, 25-19, 25-16.
In the first match of the day, Kaitlin Olmstead (Horseheads, NY) assumed a new role outside of her usual setting responsibilites and proved to be just as effective, as she had eight kills and eight digs. Nicole Corbett (Castleton, NY) added ten kills and four blocks, while Kristyn Buonincontra (Shelton, CT) served ten aces and dished out 27 assists.
In the Gators win over the Panthers of Old Westbury, Corbett had eleven kills and three blocks. Junior Kellie Jones (Troy, NY) eleven digs and five kills, and Buonincontra contributed seven aces, seven digs, and 21 assists.
Sage improved to 3-0 in conference play and 12-6 overall. The Gators travel to Bard College Wednesday, September 24th for a 7pm start.
