Gator's Pick Up Two Wins In One Night

Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges volleyball team defeated both SUNY Cobleskill and Paul Smith's College Tuesday evening.  Sage defeated SUNY Cobleskill three games to zero, winning 25-17, 25-16, 25-16.  In the second match of the night the Gators defeated Paul Smith's three games to zero, 25-5, 25-7, 25-12.

The Tigers were able to keep it close with the Gators until approximately the ten point mark, where the Gators proved to be the better squad and pulled ahead.  Leading Sage was senior setter Kaitlin Olmstead (Horseheads, NY) with four kills, 16 assists and seven digs.  Sarah Peacock (Duanesburg, NY) added eight kills and seven digs, while Krista Provost (Duanesburg, NY) had seven kills and two digs. 

The Gators made quick work of the Bobcats of Paul Smith's College, only letting them see double figures in one game.  Sara Rysedorph(Troy, NY) tallied seven aces and two kills for Sage, while freshman Kelsey Frament (Waterford, NY) contributed five kills.  Hayley Hogan (East Greenbush, NY) added four kills and five aces, and Olmstead had three kills and three aces.

The Gators improved to 9-6 and will return to the court on Friday, September 19th against conference foe Mount Saint Vincent.
