Sage Wins Second Straight Skyline Title

Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges women's volleyball team defeated both Bard College and St Joseph's College in three games en route to their second straight Skyline Conference Title. 

In the semifinal match the Gators only allows the Raptors of Bard to reach double digits in one game; 25-7, 25-16, 25-9.  Senior captain Kaitlin Olmstead (Horseheads, NY) led the way for Sage with 23 assists and 13 digs.  Nicole Corbett (Schodack, NY) added six kills and six blocks.  Senior Krista Provost (Duanesburg, NY) contributed seven kills and six digs, while Kellie Jones (Troy, NY) added seven kills and five digs.

In the championship match Sage faced St. Joseph's and remained in control from the first serve, winning 25-16, 25-11, 25 -20.  Olmstead led the way yet again with 24 assists and eleven digs.  Provost added five kills and 15 digs, while Corbett tallied five kills and seven blocks.  Jones contributed eight kills and eight digs and Sarah Peacock (Duanesburg, NY) added seven kills and seven digs.

Olmstead was named Most Valuable Player of the championship tournament for her efforts.  The Gators head to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year and will find out where they are head Sunday evening.
