Gators Pick Up Two Wins at Union Tournmanet

Schenectady, NY - The Sage Colleges volleyball team picked up two wins on the second day of the Union College Invitational.  In the 10am match the Gators defeated Elms College in three games; 25-11, 25-14, 25-9.  Sage faced Oswego in the second match of the day and picked up another win in three games, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15.

In the first match of the day Sage used a well balance attack to defeat Elms.  Sophomore Cheryce Harvey (Utica, NY) led the Gators with five kills, three digs and three aces, while Sarah Peacock (Duanesburg, NY) had seven digs, three kills and three aces.  Freshman Hayley Hogan (East Greenbush, NY) added five kills and two aces, and Kellie Jones (Troy, NY) added seven aces. 

Peacock tallied a double double to lead the Gators in the second match against Oswego with ten kills and ten digs.  Nicole Corbett (Castleton, NY) added six kills and three blocks, while Krista Provost (Delanson, NY) contributed six kills and eleven digs.  Senior setter Kaitlin Olmstead(Horseheads, NY) dished out 29 assists in addition to gathering eight digs.

The Gators improved to 7-6, and will host their first match of the year Tuesday, September 16th as they face Cobleskill at 5:30pm and Paul Smith College at 7:30pm.
