Troy, NY----The Sage Colleges women's tennis team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Saturday afternoon in Prospect Park in a key Skyline Conference match. Sage would come away with the 5-4 win to improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Skyline Conference, while the loss was the first of the year for the Rams of Farmindgale State College, which drops to 3-1 and 1-1 in the Skyline.

Leading the way for the Gators on Wednesday was senior Christina Gray (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) as she posted the 6-3, 6-1 win over senior Oshea Davis (Hempstead, NY/Freeport).  The victory marks the 15^th straight singles win for Gray which dates back to September of 2008.

For the second time this week, it would be sophomore Briana Bixler (Highland, NY/Highland) tallying the winning and decisive fifth point for the Gators with her 6-0, 6-4 win over freshman Laura Earlie (Moriches, NY/William Floyd). Bixler is also undefeated in singles play this fall as she is now 5-0 after Saturday's key win.

Farmingdale's Davis and senior Kate McEntee (Greenwich, CT/Pomfret) would score the first win over Sage's top doubles pair of Gray and sophomore Erica Fitzgerald (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) as they won 8-6. Fitzgerald added a win at second singles for the Gators.

Freshman Megan Holmes (West Camp, NY/Saugerties) added the team's last win in singles' play as she won 6-3, 6-4 over freshman Vanessa Josma (Massapequa, NY/Amitville Memorial).  

Sage returns to action on Sunday, September 20 hosting Johnson State College in a non-conference match at Prospect Park at Noon, while Farmingdale State hosts Nassau Community College on September 22 at 4 p.m.
