Sage Tennis Still Rolling, Picks Up Fifth Win In A Row
Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges tennis team extended their win streak to five with their win over conference foe Polytechnic Institute nine to zero.
Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges tennis team extended their win streak to five with their win over conference foe Polytechnic Institute nine to zero.
Christina Gray (Clifton Park, NY) and Kathryn Saulsbery (Albany, NY)both picked up singles wins, each winning 6-0, 6-0, respectively. Ashley Brennan (Loudonville, NY) defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-1 and Briana Bixler (Highland, NY) won 6-1, 6-0. Polytechnic only brought four players with them to the match, so Sage picked up the fifth and sixth singles win by walk over.
In doubles play the Gators were perfect with Gray and Saulsbery winning 8-0 along with Melissa Sageman (Westford, MA) and Jessica Baldic (Cooperstown, NY) winning 8-0. Sage earned a win by walk over in the third doubles match.
The Gators improve to 3-0 in conference play and 5-1 overall. Sage hosts non-conference opponent Bay Path College Sunday at 1pm at Prospect Park.
