Gray Named Player of the Year, Gaddis Named Coach of the Year
Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges women's tennis team grabbed three out of four of the major awards given out by the Skyline Conference at the close of each season.
Christina Gray (Clifton Park, NY) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year for her efforts in the 2008 season. She finished the year with a 11-1 overall singles record and a 7-0 conference singles record. She teamed up with Kathryn Saulsbery (Albany, NY) for first doubles and finished 11-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play. Gray and Saulsbery also captured the Skyline Confernece doubles title.
Head Coach Cedric Gaddis earned Skyline Conference Coach of the Year for leading his team to a 10-5 overall record, a 6-2 conference record, and a third place finish overall in conference play. Gaddis, in his second year as the Gators head coach, improved upon the Gators 2007 season, in which he led Sage to a Skyline quarterfinal appearance and a 3-5 showing in conference play.
Saulsbery was named to the Skyline Conference
Second Team for her 11-1 showing with Gray in
doubles and 4-3 effort in conference play.
The Gators were also awarded the Team Sportsmanship Award for the 2008 season.
