Sage Falls To Farmingdale In Conference Contest
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Sage Colleges women's soccer team dropped to 4-3-1 in conference play and 6-6-2 after a conference loss to Farmingdale State Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Rams would score the eventual game-winner in the 60th minute of play.
Farmingdale midfielder Shannon Reardon sent a ball through the middle and up to forward Katrina Cerverizzo who raced past her defender and launched a shot from 12 yards out. The shot hit off the diving Gator goalie Meghan Welcome (Cohoes, NY) hands and off the inside post into the back of the net, for a 1-0 Farmingdale State lead.
The Rams controlled the game for the most part, leading 10-5 in shots and 5-0 on corner kicks. Goalkeeper Welcome made five saves in defeat for the Gators to the Rams four saves.
Sage returns to the field Monday, October 27th as they host non-conference opponent SUNY IT at 3pm at UAlbany.
