Gators Outscore Panthers In Second Half - But Fall Short

Purchase , NY- The Sage Colleges fell to conference foe Purchase College 56-71, despite outscoring the Panthers 41-34 in the second half.

The Gators were within three points with four minutes left in the first half, but the Panthers went on a 13-0 run to close out the half.  Sage fought  back to bring themselves within 14, but couldn't get any closer.  The Gators were led by senior Kelley Barnes (Schenectady, NY) with twelve points and ten rebounds.  Kelsey Frament (Waterford, NY) added 14 points, while Liz Donk (Phelps, NY) contributed ten points. 

Purchased forced Sage into 27 turnovers.  The Gators managed only an 8-18 performance from the free throw line in one of their most physical contests of the year.

Sage is off until January 2nd when they will face WPI in the first game of the ECAC Holiday Tournament down in Orlando, FL.
