Bio

 A newcomer for Sage's women's basketball team last season, Lea McClain was a 21-game starter for the Gators. She played in 24 contests and connected for a 9.0 ppg average on 215 point, which was second best on the team.  She added a 3.5 rpg average along with 50 assists and 30 steals. She averaged 26.4 minutes a game for the Gators and chipped in with 14 three-pointers.

Among the highlights for the Gator last season, she chipped in 17 points twice last season (Old Westbury and St. Joseph’s (LI), while also hauling in a personal-best eight rebounds as well in another contest (Albertus Magnus).  She finished as the team’s high scorer four times a year ago, while adding a team-best eight rebounds against Albertus Magnus College. She finished the season ranked No. 5 in free throw percentage in the league (70.5%, 79-112).

She returned home last year after a year at Bloomfield College (NJ) and the Gators are happy she made the move.

A graduate of Mohonasen High School, she was a standout in basketball, volleyball and outdoor track. She earned a starting role as a freshman point guard in basketball at the mid-point of the season and helped the team to the sectional finals. She earned third-team all area. As a sophomore, she started every game at point guard and earned second-team all-area. Her team won the sections, regional and advanced to the state semifinals.

As a junior, she earned all-area first team acclaim as an every day starter at point guard and was the team's MVP. She capped her scholastic career with a sectional final appearance and was a Channel 13 All-Star, as well as an all-area first team performer. She was also cited as a McDonald's All-America Nomination Award recipient.

The daughter of Ryhon Ivey and Dagmar Rossi, she is a graphic design major at Sage.
