Gators drop key match to New Paltz

New Paltz, NY----The Sage Colleges women's volleyball team traveled to SUNY-New Paltz for a non-conference match on Wednesday night. The Gators would fall 3-0 to the Hawks (25-7, 25-20, 25-16) and drop to 1-9 on the season, while New Paltz improves to 5-4. A year ago, both teams earned NCAA bids, while New Paltz advanced to the round of 16 at year's end.

Sage's sophomore Cheryce Harvey (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor) paced the Gators with her five kills and seven digs, while senior middle hitter Kelli Jones (Troy, NY/Troy) recorded four kills and eight digs. Junior middle hitter Nicole Corbett (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) added four kills and a pair of blocks, while sophomore setter Kristyn Buonincontra (Shelton, CT/Shelton) recorded 15 assists in the match.

The Gators will compete on September 18-19 at the Union College Invitational.
