Fall Conference Honors

Russell Sage Athletes Earn Conference Honors

Skyline Conference commissioner Tracy King recently announced the Skyline All Conference teams for the fall season.  After wrapping up its first season of competition, with all three sports making the conference tournament, Russell Sage also tallied ten student-athletes earning all conference recognition. 

The Gator volleyball team posted four athletes on the first team, Nicole Corbett (Castleton), Kaitlin Olmstead (Horseheads), Krista Provost (Delanson), and Shannon Young (Utica).   Corbett finished second in the conference in hitting percentage (.272), while Olmstead led the conference in assists with 1,270.  Provost was in the top ten in hitting percentage, kills and digs, while Young finished first in digs (852).

Russell Sage soccer earned five spots on the all conference second team as Schuyler Kokernak (Albany), Kelli Siracusa (Lansingburgh), Ashley Allain (Stillwater), Kailyn Kulzer (Schaghticoke), and Lisa Reles (Colonie) all received the honor.  Kokernak led the conference in goals against average (.72) and was second in save percentage (.872).  Allain ranked third in the conference in assists with seven, while Reles was in the top ten in shots (56), shots per game (3.5) , points per game (1.25), goals (9) and goals per game (.56). 

Kathryn Saulsbery (Albany), from the Gator tennis team earned a spot on the all conference second team for her efforts.  Saulsbery finished fifth in conference only singles decisions, as she went 2-2.  She also finished fifth in the conference for overall doubles wins as they went 1-3.
