Early Goal Holds Up In Sage Victory

Utica, NY – The Russell Sage Gators (6-3) scored just 2:30 into the game and hung on for a 1-0 win over SUNYIT women’s soccer on Monday at Wildcat Field in Utica, N.Y.

Ashley Allain (Stillwater) sent a cross into the box from the right side that deflected in off a SUNYIT player for the game’s only goal.

The Gators out-shot SUNYIT 14-8 in the contest, but the Cats held a 6-5 edge in the second half as they pressed for the tying goal.

Amy Logan (Albany) recorded the shutout with five saves for the Gators, who return to action Wednesday as they host conference opponent College of Mount Saint Vincent at 4pm at University of Albany.
