Sage golfers open new campaign

SAGE GOLFERS OPEN NEW SEASON AT YESHIVA INVITATIONAL

Ossining, NY----The Sage Colleges men's golf team opened the new season on Tuesday competing at the Yeshiva University Invitational at Hudson Hills Golf Course, a par-71, 6,323 yard course. The tournament featured six teams and the Gators picked up a sixth place finish in their first outing. Division I Manhattan College captured the event with a score of 314 for the round. Sage would score a 479 on the day.

Taking to the course for the Gators were graduate student Elias Rutland (Nassau, NY/Columbia) as he led the team with his 111, while freshman Adam Marmuscal (Duanesburg, NY) shot a 118. Junior Evan Thorpe (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) shot 121, while sophomore Joshua Weaver (Sandlake, NY) rounded out the scoring for Sage with a 129.

Under the direction of second-year head coach, Luke Scala, the Gators will take to the links again on Friday when they travel to the Saint Joseph's College Tournament at Spring Lake Golf Course in Middle Island, NY.
