Gators take third at Delhi Bronco Invitational
Delhi, NY--- The Sage Colleges' men's golf team opened the spring half of the 2011-2012 season off this past weekend competing at the SUNY-Delhi Bronco Invitational. The Gators posted a third place finish with a team score of 336 for the par 72 course.
The hosts won the team scoring after shooting a 300 for the day, while SUNY-Delhi's B team took second after posting a 315. Sage was next with the 336, while SUNY-Cobleskill rounded out the team standings taking fourth with a 344.
Delhi's Caleb Blass was the medalist with a 68 for the day, while the Gators had three competitors in the top 10 for the event.
Leading the way for Sage was sophomore Richie Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) with an 80 and a ninth place finish, while senior Nick Osowicki (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) carded an 84 and tied for 10th with fellow Gator junior, Shane Kiseilis.
Junior captain Ian Pingelski (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) shot an 88 and took home 16th place, while senior Mason Wallace (Latham, NY/Shaker) carded an 89 and finished tied for 17th place. Sophomore Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Lake) picked up 22nd with a 92, while sophomore Gerard Beaudin (Delmar, NY/Home Schooled) shot a 105 on the day.
Sage returns to action on April 10 competing at the Hamilton College Spring Invitational.
