Brooklyn, NY--- The Fighting Blue Jays of NYU-Poly posted a 59-39 home win over the Gators of Sage on Tuesday night in Skyline Conference play. NYU-Poly stands at 2-18 overall and 2-13 in the Skyline Conference, while Sage is now 9-12 overall and 5-10 in the conference.
NYU-Poly held a 30-20 lead at the break and got 17 points from Evan Azzam, while Alex Westphal had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Sage's freshman guard Troy Nwanna (Washington, DC/Mercersburg Academy) finished with eight points, while sophomore guard Mason Horne (Albany, NY/La Salle Institute) and junior forward Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) each added seven points. Junior center Ryan Sager (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) added nine rebounds for the Gators.
Sage returns to action on February 9 hosting SUNY-Canton in a 7 p.m. non-conference contest in the Kahl Center.
