Sage Volleyball Finishes Second In Elmira Tournament


Elmira, NY – The Sage volleyball team finished the final day of the Elmira Tournament 1-1, giving them a second place finish in the tournament. The Gators lost to host Elmira one game to three, 20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 21-25; and won their last match of the day against Alfred University, 25-12, 25-15, 25-22.

In the first match against the Soaring Eagles of Elmira, outside hitter Krista Provost (Delanson, NY) led the Gators with 13 kills and 24 digs. Freshman Hayley Hoagan (East Greenbush, NY) had seven kills and two blocks, while Kaitlin Olmstead (Horseheads, NY) contributed 33 assists and 19 digs.

The second match of the day against Alfred University saw three different Gators’ lead the way. Nicole Corbett (Castleton, NY) had ten kills, Sarah Peacock (Duanesburg, NY) added nine kills and nine digs and Junior Kelli Jones (Troy, NY) had six kills and eight digs.

Sage returns to the court Wednesday, September 7th as they travel to Vassar for a non-conference match beginning at 7pm.
