Sage Falls In First Round Of NCAA Tournament
SCHENECTADY, NY Senior setter/defensive specialist Melissa Rhode (New Orleans, LA) had 13 kills and 19 assists and senior outside hitter Melanie Volk (Thompsons Station, TN) had 12 kills along with 12 digs to lead Stevens Institute of Technology to a three game triumph over The Sage Colleges in the second match of the 2008 NCAA Division III Union Regionals at the Viniar Athletic Center Thursday.

Farmingdale, NY - The Sage Colleges volleyball team picked up two conference wins Saturday against conference opponents Farmingdale and Old Westbury. The Gators defeated the Rams of Farmingdale in the first match; 25-14, 25-16, 25-11. Sage also defeated Old Westbury in three games, winning 25-8, 25-19, 25-16.

Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges volleyball team defeated both SUNY Cobleskill and Paul Smith's College Tuesday evening. Sage defeated SUNY Cobleskill three games to zero, winning 25-17, 25-16, 25-16. In the second match of the night the Gators defeated Paul Smith's three games to zero, 25-5, 25-7, 25-12.

In the 10am match the Gators defeated Elms College in three games; 25-11, 25-14, 25-9. Sage faced Oswego in the second match of the day and picked up another win in three games, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15.

Elmira, NY The Sage volleyball team finished the final day of the Elmira Tournament 1-1, giving them a second place finish in the tournament. The Gators lost to host Elmira one game to three, 20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 21-25; and won their last match of the day against Alfred University, 25-12, 25-15, 25-22.

Sage Selected First in Skyline Preseason Poll
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - As a newcomer to the Skyline Conference last season, Sage was a bit of an unknown to the other conference teams. The Gators, who went 9-0 en route to the Skyline championship and dropped just one set in 11 matches against conference foes last season, will not sneak up on anyone this season. Sage has been selected as the Skyline Conference preseason favorite in women's volleyball as selected by the league's head coaches.
