Gators earn 8-1 win in Skyline action
Sage's women's tennis team racked up an 8-1 win over Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday night.
Riverdale, NY----The Sage Colleges women's tennis team traveled to the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday night and rebounded with an 8-1 win over the Dolphins to improve 7-2 overall record, while standing at 5-1 in the league. Mt. St. Vincent drops to 0-8 overall and 0-6 in the league.
Sage's senior Christina Gray (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) was a winner for the team as she posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Kim Carreon at first singles. Gray stands at 9-2 overall on the year and 8-0 in dual match singles play. She teamed at first doubles with sophomore Erica Fitzgerald (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) for a victory at first doubles, 8-1 as they beat Carreon and Kim Laurent. The Gators duo is 7-3 overall this fall with one another, while boasting a 7-1 dual mark.
Sage will be back in action on Saturday as they will face Massachusetts College of Liberals on October 12 for a non-conference match at 1 p.m.
