WOMEN'S SOCCER

Stillwater, NY---The Sage Colleges women's soccer team hosted Farmingdale State College on Tuesday night is a Skyline Conference match. Farmingdale State College would post the 2-0 win as they elevated their season mark to 11-4-3 overall and 6-0-1 in the Skyline Conference. Sage drops to 7-6-1 overall and 4-4 in the league.

Freshman forward Christina Merrill (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) would put the Rams on the scoreboard as she converted a corner kick for the first goal of the match at the 7:25 mark. The goal was her seventh of the year and her second game-winner on the fall.

Freshman Jamie Smith (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) added her seventh goal on the fall as she tallied a score at 69:22 to elevate her team to a 2-0 lead.

For the Rams, freshman Stacey Rao (Ronkonkoma, NY/Connetquot) played the first half in the match and made a pair of saves to elevate her record in net to 4-2-1. She shared in the shutout win with rookie Maggie Studsrud (Staten Island, NY/Susan E. Wagner), marking the Rams' 11^th shutout this fall.

In goal for the Gators, was Sage's junior goalie Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) as she made 10 saves on the night.

Sage returns to action on Thursday, October 29 hosting Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at the at the University at Albany in a 3:30 p.m. match, while Farmingdale State College is in action on Thursday at Skyline Conference foe, Mt. St. Mary for a 7 p.m. match on October 29.
