Sage falls to Bard in Skyline action
Stillwater, NY---Bard College earned a 2-0 win over Sage College on Saturday in a Skyline Conference match. With the victory, Bard improved to 5-3-2 overall and 2-0-2 in the Skyline, while Sage drops to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference. Bard scored a goal in each half to halt the team's winless streak as the squad has gone 0-1-2 in the last three games.
Bard's freshman midfielder Cosie Andujar (San Clemente, CA/Corona Del Mar) scored in the first half right before the break as she converted her corner kick attempt for the score, her second of the year.
In the second half, rookie Lauren Dorsey-Spitz (Pueblo, CO/Centennial) would score on a pass from sophomore Kim Larie (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) at 87:21. Dorsey-Spitz leads Bard with her 10 goals on the fall and 23 points.
Bard's freshman goalie Lena James (Atlanta, GA/Henry W. Grady) earned the shutout win after halting 10 of the 15 Sage shots and now stands at 2-2-2 in goal. Sage's junior goalie Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) recorded seven saves on the day and is now 4-4 in net.
Sage returns to action on October 4 hosting Clarkson University at the University At Albany in a 1 p.m. non-conference game. Bard returns to the pitch on October 10 travelling to Saint Joseph's College in a 1 p.m. Skyline match.
