Sage draws ECAC bid

Troy, NY----The Sage Colleges women's soccer program just earned a spot in the upcoming 2009 ECAC Upstate Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The ECAC tournament appearance is the second for the Gators after earning a bid in 2008, another program first. Sage will take on No. 2 seeded Medaille College (9-8-2). Top seeded Brockport State (10-4-3) will serve as the tournament host, facing # 4 SUNY-IT (10-8-1). Sage faces Medaille on Saturday, November 14 at 1:30 p.m. The semifinal winners advances to the championship game on November 15 at noon, also at Brockport State.

Last week, Sage enjoyed a first in the history of the team as they earned a victory in post-season with the Gators' win over Mt. St. Mary College in the 2009 Skyline Conference Playoffs. The successful run for the league's championship was dashed in the semifinals as top seeded Farmingdale State College advanced with a 3-0 win.
