Henniker, NH—Sage's women's lacrosse team travelled to New England College for a non-conference contest on Friday afternoon. The host Pilgrims tallied a 15-5 win to improve to 1-1 on the year, while the loss puts Sage at 0-3.
NEC led 8-1 at the break and finished with a 15-5 score as Emily Bamberger had six points on four goals and two assists. Kelly Metz was the winning goalies as she made seven saves with five goals allowed.
For the Gators, freshman midfielder Mallory Hansen (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) tallied two goals with an assist for the day to finish as the Sage high-scorer with three points. Sage's senior attacker Alexa Pajak (Earlton, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) added a goal and assist, while sophomore midfielder Melissa Spring (Walworth, NY/Penfield) had a goal with an assist.
Sage's career goal scoring leader, Pajak has 47 goals and also a holds an active Sage career record of 58 points.
Senior goalie Courtney Reed (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) suffered the loss to drop to 0-3 on the year. She had 15 saves on the afternoon and now 255 career saves, an active Gator career record.
The Gators return to action on March 19 travelling to Regis College for a 7 p.m. non-conference game.
