Hackett's double-double helps Gators past SJC, 58-49
Patochogue, NY---The Sage Colleges women's basketball team traveled to St. Joseph's College on Saturday afternoon for a Skyline Conference contest. Sage tallied the important conference win as they beat the Eagles, 58-49. Sage improves to 7-10 overall and 6-6 in the league, while SJC is now 6-11 overall and 4-7 in the league.
The Gators led 33-24 at the break and was led by three different players that tallied 10 or more points in the contest including sophomore forward Kara Hackett's (Peru, NY/Peru Central) who tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds with a block as she shot 60.0% from the floor (6-10).
Sage's junior guard Sarah Carciobolo (Niskayuna, NY/Colonie) added 12 points as well off the bench, while sophomore guard Carly Vallee (East Greenbush, NY/Catholic Central) added 13 points with three baskets from beyond the arc. With her performance Saturday, she moved into the No. 9 spot on Sage's career three-point basket category as she now has 45. She moved past Connie Kaidas's (2003-2005), who had 44 three-pointers during her career.
Sage returns to action on January 31 hosting Purchase Collegein the Neff Center in Troy in a 5 p.m. Skyline Conference 29 travelling to the St. Joseph's College for a 3 p.m. Skyline Conference game.
