Andy Smith enters his second year as head men’s volleyball coach and as well as an assistant women’s coach for The Sage Colleges's women's volleyball program. Sage launched their first season of NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball during the 2010 season.
The Gators compete as a member of
the SKyline Conference and the NECVA as a Metro members.
Prior to his arrival at Sage, Smith spent three seasons at SUNY
Cortland and served as the Graduate Assistant coach for their
highly successful Red Dragon Women’s Volleyball program.
Smith had also been the head coach of the McGraw High School
Girls’ Varsity team since 2006.
During his tenure at Cortland, Smith assisted in the development
of ten all league players and 3 AVCA All Americans. In his three
seasons at SUNY Cortland Smith’s teams recorded a record of
94-32 including three SUNYAC league titles. Smith also served as
the assistant camp director for Cortland’s summer camps and
holds an IMPACT coaching certification from USA Volleyball.
Smith completed his BS in Physical Education at SUNY Cortland in
2006 and his masters' degree in teaching (Health Education) in
2008. While at SUNY Cortland, Smith was a member of the men's
volleyball club team that won NYS Championships in 2007 and 2008
and qualified for the nationals three times (2005, 2007, and 2008),
capturing ninth place each season. Smith currently plays club
volleyball for the Arsenal.
