Sage golfers take first at Purchase Invitational
Purchase, NY---- The Sage Colleges men's golf team travelled to the Purchase College Fall Invitational and came home with the team championship title. The Gators shot a 371 at Old Oaks Country Club and won their second tournament this fall. The host Purchase Panthers shot a 377 and took second place.
Lead the way for the Gators and shooting an 87 to take second was sophomore Rich Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown). Sophomore Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Lake) had an 88 on the day, while junior Dan Schulz (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) carded a 93.
Sage's sophomore Zach Meade (Tupper Lake, NY/Tupper Lake) shot a 95, while senior Nick Osowicki (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) and junior Ian Pingelski (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) both finished the event with a 96.
Sage returns to action on October 23 and 24 at the 2011 Skyline Conference Championship at the Beth Page Red Course. The 2011 Skyline Conference champion will receive the automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.
