Christman's strong finish leads Sage to second place showing

Purchase, NY ---- The Sage Colleges men's golf team competed on Wednesday at the Purchase College Fall Invitational at Old Oaks Country Club. The course is 6,503 yards and a par 70 course and the team title was captured by Concordia College as they posted a 310 on the afternoon. They also had the medalist as Kyle Granbilli shot a 73 for the par 70 course.

The Gators were lead on the day by the play of rookie Rich Christman (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) as he shot a 76, while freshman Zach Meade (Tupper Lake, NY/Tupper Lake) had a 77. Junior Shane McGowan (Schenectady, NY/Amsterdam) had an 80, while freshman Dan Schulz (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) shot an 82.

Freshman Pat Lanoue (Hoosick Valley, NY/Hoosick Valley) shot an 87, while junior Nick Osowicki (Amsterdam, Amsterdam) tallied a 91 for the Gators. Sophomore Ian Pingelski (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) finished with a 94 on the round.

Sage returns to action on October 17 and 18 at the 2010 Skyline Conference Championship. The two-day team event will crown the league's team champion that will earn the league's automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship in May.
