Sage men collect win over Yeshiva for Skyline Conference victory
Sage tallied a 72-60 win on Thursday as four players had double-digit scoring to pace team.
New York, NY--- The Sage Colleges men's team travelled to Yeshiva University on Thursday night for a Skyline Conference game. Sage triumphed 72-60 for their first Skyline Conference win the year and snap a four-game losing streak in the process. Sage stands at 3-6 overall and 1-4 in the Skyline Conference, while Yeshiva drops to 2-8 overall and 2-5 in the league.
Junior guard Pat Lanoue (Troy, NY/Hoosic Valley Central) led the way for the Gators as he tied his career high performance with 19 points after connecting on 4-8 from three-point range. Senior Derick Faragon (Rotterdam Junction, NY/Schenectady) chipped in with 17 points for Sage as they led 35-24 at the half.
Senior Lamont Garland (Albany, NY/Colonie) added 15 points with a team-high nine rebounds and seven steals to pace the Gators in the contest. Sophomore guard Jeff Stopera (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) contributed just one point, but handed our seven assists in his 35 minutes of service.
Sophomore center Ryan Sager (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) connected for 13 points to pace the Gators as they shot an impressive 55.6% from the floor and were 6-11 from three-point range .
